  • Polyphil Hair, the Parting
Widening at the parting is often the first thing people notice. The scalp is treated directly rather than the hair shaft. Assessed and mapped at consultation before any course begins.
  • Polyphil Hair, the Crown
The crown is treated across the area, not at a single point. Micro injections are spaced across the scalp in one session. Sessions take roughly the same time as a skin booster appointment.
  • Polyphil Hair, the Hairline
The front hairline is treated where it is appropriate to do so. Course design depends on what Dr Harry finds at assessment. Reviewed as the course progresses rather than judged in one visit.

Dr Harry is absolutely amazing, I can’t recommend him enough. I had my usual skin maintenance treatments yesterday, and for the first time I decided to try a lip booster. Harry was so informative, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout, and he made me feel completely at ease. I was originally offered standard lip filler, but as I’m in my 60s I wanted something more subtle and natural-looking, the lip booster felt like the perfect choice. I left the clinic with only a little swelling (nothing too bad at all) and my lips already look healthier, more youthful, and beautifully natural. I’m genuinely thrilled with the result and can’t thank him enough. Five-star-plus treatment every time. His prices are very reasonable, and his manner with patients is kind, professional, and wonderful. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment, even if I have to wait a few months because the results last so well. Thank you Dr. Harry ❤️

Dr. Harry is incredibly knowledgeable and really takes his time to talk you through everything, answer any questions, and ensure you’re comfortable throughout the whole appointment. I never felt rushed, and he explained the treatment and expected results clearly, which made me feel really confident in the process. I’m so pleased with my results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Great experience for an ultrasound-guided filler dissolution treatment. Dr Harry was very patient, caring and professional. I really appreciated the thorough consultation and felt well looked after throughout the treatment. Very happy with the results!

I visited Dr Harry after having my lips done by a few, other practitioners and my experience was positively incomparable. Harry was extremely thorough with his questioning, support and actual practice, I felt reassured and at ease, alike did my Mum, at the hands of Harry. I had 0.6ml of lip filler and was extremely impressed that he reevaluated my lips afterwards, adding in the remaining filler into specific areas. I did not have 1 single bruise, despite coming up black and blue in the past, and my lips are the most symmetrical they have ever looked. 1 million percent the best investment I have made to my face and I would never recommend going to anybody else! I visited the Chiswick clinic and it was beautiful🫶🏼 thank you Harry

I went to Dr Harry Clinic after both a recommendation and doing a lot of research, as this was my first anti-wrinkle injection treatment and choosing someone I truly trusted was really important to me. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Harry immediately made me feel at ease. He was so lovely, professional, and took the time to explain everything in detail. Most importantly, he really listened to what I wanted - especially my preference for a very natural look. Two weeks later, I had my complimentary follow-up appointment and I was already so happy with the results. At the follow-up, Harry was an absolute perfectionist, carefully assessing everything to ensure it was as balanced and natural as possible, with a small top-up where needed. Overall, my experience exceeded all expectations. If it’s your first time having treatment, or you’re looking for a new injector, I genuinely cannot recommend Dr Harry Clinic enough. One of the best decisions I’ve made.

Understanding PolyPhil Hair

PolyPhil Hair is a polynucleotide treatment for the scalp. Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments, commonly derived from salmon DNA, and they are already used across our clinic to support skin quality on the face, under the eyes, the neck and the hands. PolyPhil Hair applies the same regenerative approach to the scalp.

The distinction that matters is what is being treated. This is not a product applied to the hair shaft, and it is not a transplant. It is a course of micro injections into the scalp, placed to support the skin in which the follicle sits, including its collagen framework and its blood supply.

Because it works with the body’s own repair processes rather than adding volume, PolyPhil Hair is a course rather than a single appointment, and it is assessed over months rather than days. Dr Harry James will tell you at consultation whether he believes it is the right option for the pattern of thinning you have, and will say so plainly if it is not.

PolyPhil Hair is available at our Chiswick clinic and our Covent Garden clinic.

PolyPhil Hair Treatment Explained

01What PolyPhil Hair Is, and What It Is Not

PolyPhil Hair is a course of polynucleotide micro injections into the scalp. Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that stimulate fibroblast activity, support collagen production and encourage the formation of new blood vessels, which is the same mechanism behind our polynucleotide skin treatments.

It is worth being clear about what it is not:

  • It is not a hair transplant and it does not move or add follicles.
  • It is not a topical product you apply at home, although your aftercare may include one.
  • It is not a single session treatment, and a single session is not how it is designed to be judged.
  • It is not a replacement for a medical diagnosis if there is an underlying cause for your hair loss.

02Why the Scalp Is Treated Rather Than the Hair

Hair grows out of skin. The follicle sits within the dermis and depends on the condition of that tissue and on the blood supply reaching it. When the scalp environment deteriorates, hair quality tends to follow.

Treating the scalp directly is therefore the point of PolyPhil Hair. The injections are placed across the area of concern so the product is distributed through the tissue rather than concentrated in one spot, using the same micro injection principles we apply to delicate areas of the face.

03The Eight Session Protocol In Full

PolyPhil Hair is delivered as eight sessions in two phases:

  • Phase one, four sessions. Spaced one to two weeks apart.
  • Phase two, four sessions. Spaced three to four weeks apart.

The closer spacing at the start builds the treatment up, and the wider spacing that follows maintains it while the scalp responds. Eight sessions is the full protocol. A course of four is available where Dr Harry considers it appropriate, and he will explain at consultation which he recommends for you and why.

Regenerative treatments are assessed over a course rather than after a single visit, so progress is reviewed as you go.

04Who PolyPhil Hair Is Considered For

PolyPhil Hair is considered for men and women who have noticed:

  • Gradual thinning, particularly at the parting or the crown.
  • An increase in shedding compared with what is normal for them.
  • Hair that feels finer or less dense than it used to.
  • Increased shedding after starting a weight loss injection, which is a common reason people ask about this treatment.

Hair loss has many causes, and several of them are medical rather than aesthetic. Thyroid disease, iron deficiency, recent illness, rapid weight loss, medication and inherited pattern hair loss all present differently and are managed differently. Part of the consultation is establishing whether something else needs investigating first, and Dr Harry will tell you if he thinks you should see your GP before starting a course.

05Shedding After Weight Loss Injections

People starting weight loss injections often report hair shedding some months in. It is one of the most common reasons patients now ask us about scalp treatment.

What we will discuss at your consultation is the timing of your shedding against the timing of your weight loss, what your nutrition looks like now, and whether the pattern you have is one that PolyPhil Hair is a sensible option for. That conversation matters more than the treatment itself, because shedding related to rapid weight change behaves differently from inherited pattern hair loss, and for some people the right answer will be to address the cause first.

06What a Session Involves, and Downtime

A session is an appointment at either clinic in which polynucleotides are placed across the scalp through a series of micro injections. Sessions are comparable in length to a skin booster appointment.

You should expect the scalp to feel tender for a short period afterwards, and small injection points may be visible for a time. As with any injectable treatment, bruising, swelling, tenderness and, rarely, infection are possible. Dr Harry will take you through the risks that apply to you at consultation, and you will be given aftercare instructions for washing, styling and heat.

Every treatment at Dr Harry Clinic includes a complimentary review appointment within three weeks.

07PolyPhil Hair Prices

PolyPhil Hair is priced as follows at both clinics:

  • Single session, £350.
  • Course of four sessions, £1,150.
  • Course of eight sessions, £2,200. This is the full protocol.

The course of four and the course of eight each include a complimentary Obagi Nu-Cil Biostim scalp serum, worth £135.

A consultation is £75 and is redeemable against the cost of your treatment if you go ahead. It is refundable if you decide not to proceed, and non refundable only if you cancel within 48 hours or do not attend. Full pricing for the clinic is on our prices page.

08How PolyPhil Hair Sits Alongside Other Treatments

PolyPhil Hair treats the scalp, so it does not compete with the facial treatments many of our patients already have. The complimentary Obagi Nu-Cil Biostim scalp serum included with the courses is intended to support the treatment between sessions rather than to replace it.

If you are already having polynucleotides, Profhilo or other collagen stimulating treatments with us, tell us at consultation so your appointments can be planned together rather than scheduled against each other.

Common questions

PolyPhil Hair FAQs

01How many PolyPhil Hair sessions will I need?

The full protocol is eight sessions: four sessions one to two weeks apart, then four more three to four weeks apart. A course of four is available where Dr Harry considers it appropriate. He will recommend which is right for you at consultation and explain his reasoning.

02Is PolyPhil Hair suitable if my hair started shedding after a weight loss injection?

It is one of the most common reasons patients ask about this treatment, and it is something we will discuss in detail. Shedding that follows rapid weight loss behaves differently from inherited pattern hair loss, so the consultation covers the timing of your shedding, your nutrition and whether anything else should be looked at first. Dr Harry will say plainly if he thinks the cause should be addressed before a course is started.

03Does PolyPhil Hair hurt, and is there any downtime?

Treatment is delivered as micro injections into the scalp and most people find it manageable. The scalp is usually tender for a short period afterwards, and small injection points may be visible for a time. Bruising, swelling, tenderness and, rarely, infection are possible with any injectable treatment. You will be given aftercare instructions covering washing, styling and heat.

04What does PolyPhil Hair cost?

A single session is £350, a course of four is £1,150, and the full course of eight is £2,200. The four and eight session courses each include a complimentary Obagi Nu-Cil Biostim scalp serum worth £135. Consultation is £75 and is redeemable against your treatment.
