Forehead & Brow · concern 01

Forehead lines

Forehead lines, shown on the face
Forehead lines, shown on the face
What it is
Horizontal lines across the forehead, also called worry lines, are among the most common signs of facial ageing and one of the main reasons patients ask about anti wrinkle injections.
Why it happens
They develop from repeated muscle contractions when raising the eyebrows, expressing surprise or concentrating.
02 / 29

Forehead & Brow · concern 02

Frown lines

Frown lines, shown on the face
Frown lines, shown on the face
What it is
Frown lines, medically known as glabellar lines, are the vertical wrinkles that develop between the eyebrows.
Why it happens
They form through repeated muscle contractions when concentrating, squinting or expressing concern. Those movements are central to expression but over time they contribute to deep line formation.
03 / 29

Forehead & Brow · concern 03

Low or heavy brows

Low or heavy brows, shown on the face
Low or heavy brows, shown on the face
What it is
A heavy or tired looking upper face, where the brow sits low and the upper eyelid begins to look hooded.
Why it happens
As we age the brow gradually lowers due to muscle tension and collagen loss, leading to a heavy or tired appearance.
04 / 29

Forehead & Brow · concern 04

Temple hollowing

Temple hollowing, shown on the face
Temple hollowing, shown on the face
What it is
Hollowing at the temples, on either side of the forehead, is one of the most overlooked yet significant signs of facial ageing.
Why it happens
The temples lose volume with age, creating a hollow appearance that removes support from the brow and affects the shape of the upper face.
Treated with
Temple filler

Eyes & Tear Trough · concern 01

Crow's feet

Crow's feet, shown on the face
Crow's feet, shown on the face
What it is
Crow's feet, also known as lateral canthal lines, are the fine lines that radiate from the outer corners of the eyes and are often among the first signs of ageing to appear.
Why it happens
They develop primarily through repeated contractions of the orbicularis oculi muscle, which surrounds the eye and is responsible for blinking, squinting and smiling.
06 / 29

Eyes & Tear Trough · concern 02

Tear trough hollowing

Tear trough hollowing, shown on the face
Tear trough hollowing, shown on the face
What it is
The tear trough, beneath the lower eyelid, is one of the most delicate and challenging areas to treat in aesthetic medicine, and hollowing here creates a tired or shadowed appearance.
Why it happens
Tear trough concerns develop through volume loss under the eye, changes in skin quality, fat pad displacement and the natural ageing process.
Treated with
Tear trough filler
07 / 29

Eyes & Tear Trough · concern 03

Under eye skin quality

Under eye skin quality, shown on the face
Under eye skin quality, shown on the face
What it is
Thin, fragile under eye skin that looks dull or crepey rather than hollow, where adding volume is not the answer.
Why it happens
Polynucleotides act at a cellular level, stimulating fibroblast activity, encouraging new collagen and improving blood flow, which is why this area responds to a regenerative approach rather than a filler.
Treated with
Polynucleotides
08 / 29

Eyes & Tear Trough · concern 04

Hooded upper eyelids

Hooded upper eyelids, shown on the face
Hooded upper eyelids, shown on the face
What it is
Upper eyelid skin that rests low over the lash line, making the eye look smaller and the whole face look tired.
Why it happens
A well placed brow lift can open the eye area and reduce heaviness, which is particularly useful for patients with early signs of eyelid hooding.
09 / 29

Cheeks & Midface · concern 01

Cheek volume loss

Cheek volume loss, shown on the face
Cheek volume loss, shown on the face
What it is
Flattening of the cheek and midface, where the contour that once caught the light sits lower and softer.
Why it happens
As we age the cheeks lose volume through fat pad displacement, bone remodelling and tissue change, leading to a flattened appearance that contributes to overall facial ageing.
10 / 29

Cheeks & Midface · concern 02

Nasolabial folds

Nasolabial folds, shown on the face
Nasolabial folds, shown on the face
What it is
Nasolabial folds, commonly called smile lines, are the creases that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Why it happens
Their formation involves volume loss in the cheeks, changes in skin elasticity and repeated facial expression, which is why treating the fold alone often misses the cause.
11 / 29

Cheeks & Midface · concern 03

Marionette lines

Marionette lines, shown on the face
Marionette lines, shown on the face
What it is
Vertical lines running down from the corners of the mouth, which can give a sad or stern expression even when the face is at rest.
Why it happens
They form through volume loss in the lower face, changes in skin elasticity, gravitational effects and the natural ageing process.
12 / 29

Cheeks & Midface · concern 04

Skin laxity and dehydration

Skin laxity and dehydration, shown on the face
Skin laxity and dehydration, shown on the face
What it is
Skin that has lost its bounce and glow rather than its volume, showing as dullness, dehydration and early laxity.
Why it happens
Skin boosters nourish the skin at a cellular level, promoting hydration, collagen stimulation and tissue regeneration, which is a different job from adding contour.
Treated with
Skin boosters
13 / 29

Nose · concern 01

Dorsal hump or uneven bridge

Dorsal hump or uneven bridge, shown on the face
Dorsal hump or uneven bridge, shown on the face
What it is
A bump or irregularity along the bridge of the nose, or a profile that reads heavier than the rest of the face.
Why it happens
Filler placed along the bridge can camouflage a hump or create height. A slightly raised bridge can balance a receded chin or soften the profile without looking done.
14 / 29

Nose · concern 02

Drooping nasal tip

Drooping nasal tip, shown on the face
Drooping nasal tip, shown on the face
What it is
A nasal tip that pulls downward when smiling or speaking, making the nose look longer or heavier in movement than it does at rest.
Why it happens
It is often caused by overactivity of the depressor septi nasi muscle, a small muscle that pulls the nasal tip downwards.
Treated with
Nose tip lifting
15 / 29

Nose · concern 03

Bunny lines

Bunny lines, shown on the face
Bunny lines, shown on the face
What it is
Bunny lines, medically known as nasalis lines, are the fine diagonal wrinkles that appear on either side of the nose when smiling or laughing.
Why it happens
They are caused by repeated contraction of the nasalis muscle, which flares the nostrils and creates expressions of concentration.
16 / 29

Lips & Perioral · concern 01

Thin or flat lips

Thin or flat lips, shown on the face
Thin or flat lips, shown on the face
What it is
Lips that lack volume, definition or symmetry, or that have lost shape over time.
Why it happens
Understanding lip anatomy, proportion and the ageing process is essential for results that look natural and keep facial harmony, which is why assessment comes before any product.
Treated with
Lip filler
17 / 29

Lips & Perioral · concern 02

Smoker's lines

Smoker's lines, shown on the face
Smoker's lines, shown on the face
What it is
Smoker's lines, also known as perioral or lipstick lines, are the fine vertical wrinkles above the upper lip and sometimes below the lower lip.
Why it happens
Despite the name they are not exclusive to smokers. They are a natural part of ageing and can affect anyone through repetitive lip movement, collagen loss, sun exposure and skin thinning.
18 / 29

Lips & Perioral · concern 03

Inward turning upper lip

Inward turning upper lip, shown on the face
Inward turning upper lip, shown on the face
What it is
An upper lip that shows very little when smiling, or that curls under and appears thinner than it is.
Why it happens
In some people the upper lip curls under slightly when smiling, causing it to appear thinner or less visible. Relaxing the muscle at the lip border lets the lip rest more openly without adding volume.
Treated with
Lip flip
19 / 29

Lips & Perioral · concern 04

Downturned mouth corners

Downturned mouth corners, shown on the face
Downturned mouth corners, shown on the face
What it is
A downturned mouth, also known as oral commissure descent, is where the corners of the lips pull downward at rest, often reading as sadness or tiredness when you feel neither.
Why it happens
It is typically caused by overactivity of the depressor anguli oris muscles, which pull the corners of the mouth downwards.
20 / 29

Lips & Perioral · concern 05

Marionette lines

Marionette lines, shown on the face
Marionette lines, shown on the face
What it is
Vertical lines extending downward from the corners of the mouth, which carry an expression the face is not making.
Why it happens
Their formation involves volume loss in the lower face, changes in skin elasticity, gravitational effects and the natural ageing process.

Jawline & Chin · concern 01

Weak jawline definition

Weak jawline definition, shown on the face
Weak jawline definition, shown on the face
What it is
A jawline that lacks a clear line between face and neck, softening the profile and the proportions of the lower face.
Why it happens
A well defined jawline is associated with youth and structure in both men and women, and the jawline plays a central role in overall facial proportion.
Treated with
Jawline filler
22 / 29

Jawline & Chin · concern 02

Receded or under projected chin

Receded or under projected chin, shown on the face
Receded or under projected chin, shown on the face
What it is
A chin that sits back from the ideal profile line, which affects the balance between nose, lips and jaw when seen from the side.
Why it happens
Chin enhancement addresses facial proportion and profile balance rather than any single feature, which is why it is assessed alongside the nose and jawline.
Treated with
Chin filler
23 / 29

Jawline & Chin · concern 03

Jowls and sagging at the jawline

Jowls and sagging at the jawline, shown on the face
Jowls and sagging at the jawline, shown on the face
What it is
Softening along the jawline where the lower face begins to descend, blurring the jaw's outline.
Why it happens
Loss of structural support in the lower face, together with skin elasticity change, allows tissue to sit lower than it once did.
Treated with
Jawline filler
24 / 29

Jawline & Chin · concern 04

Lower face and neck laxity

Lower face and neck laxity, shown on the face
Lower face and neck laxity, shown on the face
What it is
Laxity across the lower face, jawline and neck treated together as one region rather than separately.
Why it happens
The Nefertiti technique addresses the lower face, jawline and neck without surgery by treating the muscles that pull the lower face down.
25 / 29

Jawline & Chin · concern 05

Wide or heavy jaw (masseter)

What it is
A lower face that reads wide or square because the masseter, the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw, has become overdeveloped.
Why it happens
Clenching, grinding and a naturally strong bite build the muscle up over years. It also drives jaw ache and worn teeth, so treating it is often as much clinical as aesthetic.
26 / 29

Neck & Décolletage · concern 01

Loss of neck and jaw definition

What it is
The line between the jaw and the neck softening, so the two read as one surface rather than a defined edge.
Why it happens
The platysma, a broad sheet of muscle in the neck, pulls down on the jawline as it tightens with age. Relaxing it lets the jaw sit as the stronger line again.
27 / 29

Neck & Décolletage · concern 02

Vertical neck bands

What it is
Cord like vertical bands standing out down the front of the neck, most visible when talking or tensing.
Why it happens
They are the front edges of the platysma muscle becoming more prominent as the muscle tightens and the skin over it thins.
28 / 29

Neck & Décolletage · concern 03

Crepey neck and décolletage

What it is
Fine crepey texture and loss of firmness across the lower neck and the upper chest.
Why it happens
The skin here is thin, has fewer oil glands than the face and takes years of sun exposure, so it loses hydration and collagen earlier and is often left out of a skincare routine.
29 / 29

Neck & Décolletage · concern 04

Tension across the shoulders

What it is
Shoulders that sit high and feel permanently braced, with aching across the tops and tightness at the base of the neck.
Why it happens
The trapezius never fully lets go: desk work, driving, carrying a bag on one side and training all keep it switched on. Softening it eases the ache and lengthens the line from neck to shoulder.

Advanced Facial Area Analysis and Treatment Integration

01Comprehensive Anatomical Approach to Facial Enhancement

The treatment of facial areas requires sophisticated understanding of three-dimensional facial anatomy, muscle interactions, and aesthetic proportions that extend far beyond simple area-by-area treatment approaches. Dr. Harry’s expertise as a certified trainer provides the advanced anatomical knowledge necessary to achieve optimal results through comprehensive facial area enhancement.

02Facial Thirds and Proportional Analysis

The classical division of the face into upper, middle, and lower thirds provides the foundation for aesthetic analysis and treatment planning. The upper third extends from the hairline to the eyebrows, the middle third from the eyebrows to the base of the nose, and the lower third from the base of the nose to the chin. Optimal facial aesthetics require balance and proportion between these thirds.

Dr. Harry’s approach to facial area treatment considers these proportional relationships to ensure that enhancement of individual areas contributes to overall facial harmony rather than creating imbalance or disproportion. This comprehensive approach distinguishes expert treatment from basic area-specific interventions.

03Facial Fifths and Horizontal Proportions

The horizontal analysis of facial proportions divides the face into five equal vertical sections, each approximately the width of one eye. This analysis guides treatment decisions for areas such as the temples, cheeks, and jawline to ensure that enhancement maintains or improves facial balance.

Understanding these proportional relationships allows Dr. Harry to recommend treatments that enhance natural beauty whilst maintaining the individual characteristics that make each face unique and attractive.

04Advanced Treatment Planning for Facial Areas

Vector Analysis and Lifting Strategies: Modern facial enhancement requires understanding of facial vectors and the direction of tissue support needed to achieve optimal lifting and rejuvenation effects. This analysis considers how different treatment areas interact to create overall facial improvement.

The vector analysis approach allows for strategic treatment planning that maximizes lifting effects whilst minimizing product requirements and treatment sessions. Dr. Harry’s expertise in this advanced approach ensures optimal outcomes with efficient treatment protocols.

Age-Related Changes and Treatment Adaptation: Different facial areas age at different rates and through different mechanisms, requiring customized treatment approaches that address the specific changes occurring in each area. Understanding these age-related changes allows for targeted treatment that addresses root causes rather than just symptoms.

The treatment adaptation considers not only current concerns but also preventative strategies that help maintain results and prevent future changes. This forward-thinking approach provides long-term value for patients seeking comprehensive facial enhancement.

05Advanced Combination Treatment Protocols

Synergistic Treatment Approaches: The most effective facial area enhancement often involves combination treatments that address multiple aspects of ageing simultaneously. These synergistic approaches provide superior results compared to single-treatment strategies whilst often requiring fewer total sessions.

Dr. Harry’s expertise in multiple treatment modalities allows for sophisticated combination protocols that maximize results whilst maintaining safety and natural-looking outcomes. This comprehensive approach reflects his trainer-level understanding of facial anatomy and treatment interactions.

Staged Treatment Planning: Complex facial area enhancement may benefit from staged treatment approaches that allow for gradual improvement whilst maintaining natural-looking results. This approach also allows for assessment and adjustment between treatment stages to ensure optimal outcomes.

The staged approach is particularly valuable for patients requiring comprehensive facial rejuvenation, allowing for careful progression toward aesthetic goals whilst maintaining facial harmony throughout the process.

FAQs

Common questions

Understanding Facial Area Treatments

01How do you determine which facial areas need treatment?

Dr. Harry uses comprehensive facial analysis that considers facial proportions, symmetry, volume distribution, and individual aesthetic goals to determine which areas would benefit from treatment. This analysis includes assessment of facial thirds and fifths, vector analysis for lifting strategies, and consideration of how different areas interact to create overall facial harmony. The assessment process is thorough and educational, ensuring that patients understand the rationale behind treatment recommendations.

02Can facial area treatments be customized for different ethnic backgrounds?

Absolutely. Dr. Harry’s experience treating London’s diverse population has refined his ability to customize treatments for different ethnic backgrounds and facial structures. Different ethnicities have distinct facial proportions, ageing patterns, and aesthetic ideals that require specialized understanding and treatment approaches. The consultation process includes discussion of cultural aesthetic preferences and individual goals to ensure that treatments enhance natural beauty whilst respecting individual heritage and preferences.

03What makes Dr Harry's approach to facial area treatment unique?

Dr. Harry’s approach is distinguished by his comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy gained through his trainer credentials, his ability to see the face as an integrated whole rather than separate areas, and his commitment to achieving natural-looking results that enhance rather than alter facial features. His three-dimensional analysis considers how treatments in different areas interact to create overall improvement, ensuring that enhancement contributes to facial harmony rather than creating imbalance.

04How do you ensure natural-looking results across different facial areas?

Natural-looking results require understanding of facial proportions, muscle dynamics, and the ageing process, combined with artistic vision and clinical restraint. Dr. Harry’s approach emphasizes enhancement rather than transformation, with careful attention to maintaining the individual characteristics that make each face unique. The treatment planning process considers how different areas work together to create overall facial harmony, ensuring that improvements look natural and age-appropriate.

05How do you plan treatments for multiple facial areas?

Multi-area treatment planning requires comprehensive facial analysis and understanding of how different treatments interact to create overall improvement. Dr. Harry’s approach considers facial proportions, vector analysis for optimal lifting effects, and the timeline for different treatments to create a coordinated plan that achieves optimal results efficiently. The planning process may involve staged treatments or combination approaches depending on individual needs and goals.

06What should I expect during facial area assessment?

The facial area assessment includes detailed analysis of facial proportions, symmetry, volume distribution, and muscle activity. Dr. Harry examines your face from multiple angles, discusses your concerns and goals, and explains how different treatment options can address your specific needs. The assessment is educational and thorough, ensuring that you understand the rationale behind treatment recommendations and have realistic expectations about outcomes.

07How long do results last for different facial areas?

Results duration varies by treatment type and facial area. Anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3-4 months, dermal fillers 6-18 months depending on the product and area, and skin boosters 6-9 months. The longevity also depends on individual factors such as metabolism, lifestyle, and muscle activity. Dr. Harry provides specific information about expected duration for your individual treatment plan during consultation.

08Can facial area treatments be adjusted if I'm not satisfied with results?

Yes, most facial area treatments can be adjusted or refined if needed. Dermal fillers can be dissolved or additional product added, anti-wrinkle injection effects can be modified in subsequent treatments, and skin booster treatments can be customized based on response. Dr. Harry’s expertise ensures that any adjustments are made safely and effectively to achieve your desired outcomes.

09Are there any risks specific to treating different facial areas?

Different facial areas have varying risk profiles based on their anatomy and the treatments used. Areas with thinner skin or important structures nearby require greater expertise and precision. Dr. Harry’s medical background and trainer credentials ensure that he understands the specific risks and safety considerations for each facial area, employing appropriate techniques and safety protocols to minimize risks whilst achieving optimal results.

Dr Harry is absolutely amazing, I can’t recommend him enough. I had my usual skin maintenance treatments yesterday, and for the first time I decided to try a lip booster. Harry was so informative, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout, and he made me feel completely at ease. I was originally offered standard lip filler, but as I’m in my 60s I wanted something more subtle and natural-looking, the lip booster felt like the perfect choice. I left the clinic with only a little swelling (nothing too bad at all) and my lips already look healthier, more youthful, and beautifully natural. I’m genuinely thrilled with the result and can’t thank him enough. Five-star-plus treatment every time. His prices are very reasonable, and his manner with patients is kind, professional, and wonderful. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment, even if I have to wait a few months because the results last so well. Thank you Dr. Harry ❤️

Dr. Harry is incredibly knowledgeable and really takes his time to talk you through everything, answer any questions, and ensure you’re comfortable throughout the whole appointment. I never felt rushed, and he explained the treatment and expected results clearly, which made me feel really confident in the process. I’m so pleased with my results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I visited Dr Harry after having my lips done by a few, other practitioners and my experience was positively incomparable. Harry was extremely thorough with his questioning, support and actual practice, I felt reassured and at ease, alike did my Mum, at the hands of Harry. I had 0.6ml of lip filler and was extremely impressed that he reevaluated my lips afterwards, adding in the remaining filler into specific areas. I did not have 1 single bruise, despite coming up black and blue in the past, and my lips are the most symmetrical they have ever looked. 1 million percent the best investment I have made to my face and I would never recommend going to anybody else! I visited the Chiswick clinic and it was beautiful🫶🏼 thank you Harry

I went to Dr Harry Clinic after both a recommendation and doing a lot of research, as this was my first anti-wrinkle injection treatment and choosing someone I truly trusted was really important to me. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Harry immediately made me feel at ease. He was so lovely, professional, and took the time to explain everything in detail. Most importantly, he really listened to what I wanted - especially my preference for a very natural look. Two weeks later, I had my complimentary follow-up appointment and I was already so happy with the results. At the follow-up, Harry was an absolute perfectionist, carefully assessing everything to ensure it was as balanced and natural as possible, with a small top-up where needed. Overall, my experience exceeded all expectations. If it’s your first time having treatment, or you’re looking for a new injector, I genuinely cannot recommend Dr Harry Clinic enough. One of the best decisions I’ve made.
