Dr Harry is absolutely amazing, I can’t recommend him enough. I had my usual skin maintenance treatments yesterday, and for the first time I decided to try a lip booster. Harry was so informative, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout, and he made me feel completely at ease. I was originally offered standard lip filler, but as I’m in my 60s I wanted something more subtle and natural-looking, the lip booster felt like the perfect choice. I left the clinic with only a little swelling (nothing too bad at all) and my lips already look healthier, more youthful, and beautifully natural. I’m genuinely thrilled with the result and can’t thank him enough. Five-star-plus treatment every time. His prices are very reasonable, and his manner with patients is kind, professional, and wonderful. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment, even if I have to wait a few months because the results last so well. Thank you Dr. Harry ❤️

Dr. Harry is incredibly knowledgeable and really takes his time to talk you through everything, answer any questions, and ensure you’re comfortable throughout the whole appointment. I never felt rushed, and he explained the treatment and expected results clearly, which made me feel really confident in the process. I’m so pleased with my results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

Great experience for an ultrasound-guided filler dissolution treatment. Dr Harry was very patient, caring and professional. I really appreciated the thorough consultation and felt well looked after throughout the treatment. Very happy with the results!

I visited Dr Harry after having my lips done by a few, other practitioners and my experience was positively incomparable. Harry was extremely thorough with his questioning, support and actual practice, I felt reassured and at ease, alike did my Mum, at the hands of Harry. I had 0.6ml of lip filler and was extremely impressed that he reevaluated my lips afterwards, adding in the remaining filler into specific areas. I did not have 1 single bruise, despite coming up black and blue in the past, and my lips are the most symmetrical they have ever looked. 1 million percent the best investment I have made to my face and I would never recommend going to anybody else! I visited the Chiswick clinic and it was beautiful🫶🏼 thank you Harry

I went to Dr Harry Clinic after both a recommendation and doing a lot of research, as this was my first anti-wrinkle injection treatment and choosing someone I truly trusted was really important to me. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Harry immediately made me feel at ease. He was so lovely, professional, and took the time to explain everything in detail. Most importantly, he really listened to what I wanted - especially my preference for a very natural look. Two weeks later, I had my complimentary follow-up appointment and I was already so happy with the results. At the follow-up, Harry was an absolute perfectionist, carefully assessing everything to ensure it was as balanced and natural as possible, with a small top-up where needed. Overall, my experience exceeded all expectations. If it’s your first time having treatment, or you’re looking for a new injector, I genuinely cannot recommend Dr Harry Clinic enough. One of the best decisions I’ve made.

Lips & Perioral · concern 01

Thin or flat lips

Thin or flat lips, shown on the face
Thin or flat lips, shown on the face
What it is
Lips that lack volume, definition or symmetry, or that have lost shape over time.
Why it happens
Understanding lip anatomy, proportion and the ageing process is essential for results that look natural and keep facial harmony, which is why assessment comes before any product.
Treated with
Lip filler

Smoker's lines

Smoker's lines, shown on the face
Smoker's lines, shown on the face
What it is
Smoker's lines, also known as perioral or lipstick lines, are the fine vertical wrinkles above the upper lip and sometimes below the lower lip.
Why it happens
Despite the name they are not exclusive to smokers. They are a natural part of ageing and can affect anyone through repetitive lip movement, collagen loss, sun exposure and skin thinning.

Lips & Perioral · concern 03

Inward turning upper lip

Inward turning upper lip, shown on the face
Inward turning upper lip, shown on the face
What it is
An upper lip that shows very little when smiling, or that curls under and appears thinner than it is.
Why it happens
In some people the upper lip curls under slightly when smiling, causing it to appear thinner or less visible. Relaxing the muscle at the lip border lets the lip rest more openly without adding volume.
Treated with
Lip flip

Lips & Perioral · concern 04

Downturned mouth corners

Downturned mouth corners, shown on the face
Downturned mouth corners, shown on the face
What it is
A downturned mouth, also known as oral commissure descent, is where the corners of the lips pull downward at rest, often reading as sadness or tiredness when you feel neither.
Why it happens
It is typically caused by overactivity of the depressor anguli oris muscles, which pull the corners of the mouth downwards.

Lips & Perioral · concern 05

Marionette lines

Marionette lines, shown on the face
Marionette lines, shown on the face
What it is
Vertical lines extending downward from the corners of the mouth, which carry an expression the face is not making.
Why it happens
Their formation involves volume loss in the lower face, changes in skin elasticity, gravitational effects and the natural ageing process.

01Comprehensive Lip Area Assessment

At the core of Dr Harry’s treatment philosophy is a detailed assessment of the lips and surrounding structures to identify concerns, balance facial proportions, and customise the treatment plan for refined results.

Lip Area Analysis

Every lip treatment begins with an in-depth analysis of lip anatomy, volume distribution, muscle dynamics, and overall harmony with surrounding features. Dr Harry assesses:

  • Lip volume and proportion between the top and bottom lip

  • Definition of the vermillion border and philtrum

  • Lip symmetry and projection

  • Perioral wrinkles and vertical lip lines

  • Hydration and texture quality of the lip tissue

This thorough evaluation allows for highly targeted treatment strategies that align with your aesthetic goals while preserving natural movement and character.

02Strategic Treatment Planning

Lip treatments demand precision, restraint, and aesthetic sensitivity. Dr Harry’s treatment planning process ensures that results are elegant, not exaggerated, enhancing what’s already there rather than dramatically changing it.

Treatment is selected based on individual needs, whether addressing age-related volume loss, congenital asymmetry, or restoring lip hydration and definition. The result is a soft, balanced enhancement that integrates harmoniously with the entire face.

03Available Treatments for the Lip Area

Lip Enhancement with Dermal Fillers

Designed to restore or subtly enhance volume using soft hyaluronic acid-based fillers, this treatment improves fullness while maintaining natural lip shape. Dr Harry uses a precision-guided technique to avoid overfilling and ensure perfect proportion.

Ideal for:

  • Naturally thin lips

  • Age-related volume loss

  • Smoothing vertical creases on the lips

Lip Flip with Botulinum Toxin

A non-filler approach using botulinum toxin to subtly evert the upper lip, creating the illusion of fuller lips without adding volume. Particularly effective for patients seeking enhancement with minimal change.

Ideal for:

  • A hidden or inward-turning upper lip

  • Patients avoiding dermal filler

  • A softer, natural-looking enhancement

Vermillion Border Definition

Enhancing the edges of the lips without increasing size. This treatment refines the outline and helps define the cupid’s bow, offering youthful lip contour and enhanced lipstick retention.

Ideal for:

  • Faded lip borders

  • Lipstick bleeding

  • Subtle shape correction

Smoker’s Line Correction (Anti-Wrinkle Injections or Filler)

Vertical lip lines around the mouth (perioral wrinkles) can be softened with a combination of wrinkle-relaxing injections and fine dermal fillers. Dr Harry chooses the technique based on line depth and skin integrity.

Ideal for:

  • Smokers or ex-smokers

  • Lines visible even at rest

  • Patients seeking smoother perioral skin

Lip Skin Boosters

Microinjections of hydrating hyaluronic acid improve lip texture, reduce fine lines, and enhance overall lip softness. Particularly effective for dehydrated lips or those seeking a glossy, youthful finish.

Ideal for:

  • Dry or cracked lips

  • Fine lip lines

  • A healthier-looking lip surface

04Comprehensive Lip Rejuvenation

The most effective lip rejuvenation often combines several treatments tailored to the specific anatomy and aesthetic of each patient. Dr Harry’s skill lies in knowing which techniques to combine, and when, to achieve soft, natural elegance.

A typical lip rejuvenation plan may combine:

  • Lip volume enhancement

  • Definition of the vermillion border

  • Softening of perioral wrinkles

  • Hydration with lip-specific skin boosters

Dr Harry’s bespoke approach ensures lips remain in harmony with the entire face, enhancing your natural beauty, never distorting it.

05Long-Term Lip Maintenance

Lip treatments require ongoing care to maintain results, with touch-up appointments tailored to individual response and goals.

Maintenance Schedule:

  • Dermal fillers: typically 9 to 12 months

  • Lip flip (botulinum toxin): every 3 to 4 months

  • Skin boosters: 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4 to 6 months

Ongoing care with Dr Harry ensures that results remain soft, fresh, and refined over time, with subtle adjustments as your face evolves.

Understanding Lip Anatomy and Aesthetics

The lips are central to facial beauty and attractiveness, playing crucial roles in facial expressions, communication, and overall facial harmony. Understanding lip anatomy and aesthetic principles is essential for achieving beautiful, natural-looking enhancement results.

The lips contain complex anatomical structures including muscles, blood vessels, and specialised tissues that require expert understanding for safe and effective treatment. The relationship between lip proportions and overall facial harmony is crucial for achieving attractive results.

Dr Harry’s expertise in lip treatments comes from his comprehensive understanding of lip anatomy and his experience as a trainer in aesthetic medicine. This knowledge ensures that treatments achieve beautiful enhancement whilst maintaining natural appearance and function.

Lip Treatments insights

01Fuller, balanced lips with tailored filler placement

Dermal fillers are used to add volume, define lip borders, and correct asymmetry, enhancing lip aesthetics while maintaining natural proportions and movement.

02Lip flip for subtle enhancement and improved lip show

Anti-wrinkle injections to the orbicularis oris muscle create a delicate outward roll of the upper lip, enhancing smile aesthetics without volume.

03Advanced rejuvenation for smoker’s lines and perioral ageing

Fine lines above the lip are softened using a precise combination of filler and anti-wrinkle treatment, restoring a smoother, youthful look around the mouth.

04Corner and marionette correction for lifted, softened expression

Filler is used to treat marionette lines and downturned mouth corners, improving lower face support and creating a more positive, rested appearance.

Common questions

Lip Treatments FAQs

01Will lip filler make my lips look unnatural or overdone?

No. Dr Harry’s technique focuses on natural-looking results that enhance your own lip shape. Every treatment is customised to your facial proportions, ensuring subtle, elegant enhancement, never overfilled.

02How long do lip fillers last?

Lip fillers typically last between 6 to 12 months, depending on the product used, your metabolism, and lifestyle. Regular maintenance can help prolong and preserve results.

03What is a lip flip, and how is it different from filler?

A lip flip uses anti-wrinkle injections to subtly relax the upper lip muscle, allowing the lip to roll outward slightly for a fuller appearance. It doesn’t add volume like filler but can enhance shape and reduce a gummy smile.

04Can lip treatments improve fine lines around the mouth?

Yes. Smoker’s lines (perioral lines) can be treated with fine filler or anti-wrinkle injections to smooth the area while preserving natural lip movement and expression.

05Is lip filler painful?

Discomfort is minimal. A topical anaesthetic is applied beforehand, and the fillers used by Dr Harry contain lidocaine to further reduce any sensation. Most patients find the treatment very tolerable.

06Can you fix asymmetrical lips?

Absolutely. Dr Harry performs a detailed symmetry assessment and uses precise injection techniques to balance lip shape and volume, ensuring results that are both beautiful and natural.

07Are there any side effects or downtime?

You may experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Results are visible straight away, with final refinement as swelling subsides.

08Can I combine lip treatments with other procedures?

Yes. Many patients choose to combine lip enhancement with cheek contouring or skin boosters for a more harmonised facial result. Dr Harry will create a bespoke plan based on your goals.

09How often should I get lip treatments?

This varies by treatment type. Dermal fillers may need top-ups every 6 to 12 months, while lip flips (anti-wrinkle injections) typically require maintenance every 3 to 4 months.
